Wisdom Runner - Firm Footing & Eagle Eyes
Proverbs 4:25-26

By Dr. Roland J. Hill

Great runners know that firm footing and an eagle eye focus are major keys to winning races. They don’t worry about their opponents. Their only concern is making sure their feet are planted firmly every step along the course with eagle eyes fixed on the finish line. Great runners don’t let others distract, disturb, or disrupt their run to the goal. They understand this wisdom principle, “Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you, make level paths for your feet, and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or left, keep your foot from evil.” Proverbs 4: 25-27.  What kind of runner are you? Do you make sure everyday you’re stepping firmly in God’s Word? Do you wait on the Lord to give you eagle eyes to see the finish line? Or are you allowing your family, friends, or foe to cause you to lose focus – looking to the right or to the left? Become a Wisdom Runner today. Determine that you will focus with eagle eyes on God’s vision for your life: allowing nothing and no one to distract, disturb, or disrupt your run today.

The Prayer
Dear God, I will start my morning with a new commitment to become a Wisdom Runner.  Thank you for charting the course for my life. Help me to run my course today with firm feet in Your Word. Teach me to wait on You for eagle eyes to see beyond the disappointments, roadblocks, and opposition to victory. I confess I need Jesus, who has run this course before me, to run with me today. I thank you in advance for an exciting, exhilarating, and successful run with You today. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
