Meet the De Leóns
César and Carolann De León are major contributors to the column, "Counselors Corner," in the bi-monthly NAD Ministerial Spouses Association newsletter for ministerial spouses. Readers are invited to email questions to the De Leóns.

We invite you to read the short bios about the De Leóns to get better acquainted with their counseling ministries.

César De León

César De León, Ph.D. LMFT, is the ministerial and evangelism director for Central California Conference. He also is licensed as a marriage and family therapist in the state of California.

César obtained his M.Div. from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, and then attended Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California, where he graduated with a M.S. in marriage and family therapy. He worked as a clinical therapist for the Mental Health Department of San Bernardino County, in California, and at the Marriage & Family Therapy Clinic at Loma Linda University. César earned his clinical Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy from the School of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.
César is the co-founder of Tu Familia Primero, a bi-lingual ministry that includes a radio program and seminars for families around the world.  He loves to see people find new ways to approach their emotional, mental and spiritual problems, and believes that relationships are the contextual foundation for people’s realization of their own need for change, growth and redefinition in Christ.
César offers a unique approach in his presentations, where his theological and psychological experience merge and offer a clear dimension of emotional and spiritual relational healing.
Carolann De León
Carolann De León, R.N., M.S., worked in critical care nursing for 14 years before earning her Master of Science in marriage and family therapy from Loma Linda University in California. She also interned at the Loma Linda Marriage & Family Clinic and at the San Bernardino Mental Health Department in California. Carolann had almost completed her doctorate degree at Fuller Theological Seminary when she decided to accept a “higher calling” to raise and educate their two children, Zachary and Jonathan. Carolann has been a volunteer associate counseling pastor for more than 25 years. She currently is completing her Ph.D. in pastoral counseling.
Carolann and César are the founders and speakers of Tu Familia Primero, a bilingual ministry focused on helping couples and families to live their God given potential for happiness, purpose and mission. They have been privileged to witness the healing power of Jesus Christ in hurting people’s lives as they embark on the journey of “holistic healing” (physical, emotional and spiritual). This is what fuels Carolann’s heart, spirit and ministry.
The De Leóns  passionately enjoy offering hope, new understanding and new beginnings to individuals, couples and families who attend their seminars. On their extensive travels, they have consistently witnessed the power of God through the work of the Spirit in their seminars. Their ministry includes the integration of their psychological and theological knowledge, enriched with plenty of prayer.
