As of April 2012, Elina, a Cuban-American, is married to Carlos Camarena, with whom she enjoys working in their two-church district. She is the associate pastor at the Paradise Valley Spanish Church in San Diego and the Vista Spanish Church in Vista, California. Elina has four children: Elina, married and working in Nebraska; Carlos, married and working in Hawaii; Paul, a senior at La Sierra University; and Mark, a 10th-grader at Escondido Adventist Academy; and also has two beautiful grandchildren, 16-month-old Evie Noelle Bascom and four-weekold Noah Robert Mitchell Camarena. Elina holds a BS in finance from California State University in San Bernardino,and a BA in pastoral theology from Northeast Brazil College, a degree she completed while her husband served as a Seminary professor in Bahia, Brazil.She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in pastoral theology from the Theological Seminary at Andrews University.Her passion is seeing people develop into spiritual maturity and in their love for God through the service of God’s people. Elina enjoys reading,traveling, and spending time with family as much as possible.
