Listen to Heidi's Story

As of April 2012, Heide serves as the chaplain resident at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in San Pedro, California, and a lay pastor and counselor at South Bay- Redondo Church in the Southern California Conference. Heide’s ministry began as a missionary to Japan. She cofounded Women of Spirit magazine, ministering to women around the world as associate editor for nearly a decade. After serving as a pastoral counselor, she became director of the Women’s Resource Center, educating and advocating for women clergy.

Pastor Heide loves preaching the Word and helping people grow spiritually and emotionally. Heide holds a BS in nursing from Southern Adventist University and an MA in counseling from Andrews University. She has completed coursework for an MA in religion from La Sierra University, and is currently pursuing endorsement and board certification as a hospital chaplain. She and her pastor-husband, Zell, love walking along the ocean, archaeology, nature excursions, and music.
