Listen to Ann's Story

As of April 2012, Ann is pastor of the New Hope Church, Fulton, Maryland, overseeing family ministries (children, youth, and parents). She is driven by a conviction to help parents realize their call to be primary spiritual mentors for their children; to lead children and youth to decide for Jesus Christ; to help them live their faith in an authentic, meaningful, fun way. She has been piloting an integrated approach to family ministries. Every week the entire church body takes a journey through the same Bible teachings. In Sabbath School classes, kids’ and youth worship, and the main service, the Bible lessons and sermon themes are the same, enabling families to have spiritual discussions and to live biblical truths together daily. Ann loves to bike, study history, travel, watch reruns of Hogan’s Heroes, eat Thai food, and sit with a hot drink, surrounded by good folk and good conversation--or with a bowl of Breyer’s Vanilla Fudge Twirl ice cream. She is married to Jose Hernandez, a chaplain and full-time PhD student in pastoral/clinical counseling.
