Listen to Kendra's Story

As of April 2012, Kendra enjoyed working as an Adventist pastor (1989-1993) before joining the Religion Department at
Columbia Union College (now Washington Adventist University). Experiences both in congregational and classroom ministry influenced Kendra’s interest in the book of Revelation. She pursued these interests in a PhD program at the
Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. In July 2001, Kendra accepted an invitation to join La Sierra University,
in Riverside, California, where she now serves as an associate professor of New Testament Studies. Recently Kendra accepted an invitation from the Southeastern California Conference to serve as the assistant to the president for Women in Ministry. She and her husband, Gil Valentine, love to travel and to discuss many different topics during their morning walks together.
