Listen to Shawn's Story

As of April 2012, Shawn is senior pastor of the Bethany Church in Memphis, Tennessee. After she completed her BA in
theology and pastoral ministry at Columbia Union College (now Washington Adventist University) in 2005 and her MDiv, with an emphasis in family life education, from the Theological Seminary at Andrews University in 2009, she served as pastoral assistant under Pastor Gene M. Donaldson at the Capitol Hill Church. Her work there caught the attention of the South Central Conference, which extended her call to ministry in Memphis, where she was installed on March 3, 2012.
Shawn’s passion is winning souls for the kingdom. During quiet times, she loves reading, assembling jigsaw puzzles, bowling, socializing, and occasionally playing Sudoku. She is married to her beloved James and is stepmother to three wonderful adult children. Her personal motto is Psalm 34:8: “Oh taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”
