Listen to Marian's Story (Part 2)

As of last year in April 2012, Marian is the lay pastor of the Gentry Church in Arkansas. She began her ministry in the Arkansas- Louisiana Conference as prayer ministries coordinator, a position she has held for 12 years. A registered nurse, Marian enjoyed serving in various capacities, including as a home health/hospice nurse for 25 years. After the death of her husband of 50 years, in 2008, she was invited to become the chaplain for the Gentry Church. She has appreciated ministering alongside four pastors—and the opportunity to travel on four Share Him trips, three to Africa and one to the Philippines. Preaching has become a passion, along with prayer ministries. Marian has three adult children and six grandchildren. Daughter Shirley, a mental health nurse manager in the V.A. hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi, has two grown daughters. Debra, Marian’s second daughter, is a chaplain for Adventist Health Systems Midwest, wife of a pastor, and mother of two sons. Son Jeff, married with two daughters, is a pilot living in Little Elm, Texas, and loves travel as much as his mother.
